The Power of Holistic Innovation

Fraley is the author of Jack’s Notebook: A Business Novel About Creative Problem Solving, which takes on the subjects of innovation and problem solving in the genre of a fast-paced thriller. In it, Fraley displays his insights into the creative behaviors and practices that bring about innovation.
Fraley is a proven innovator in both medical software and interactive entertainment, and he now works as an innovation process coach to many organizations seeking to improve their results. He advocates a “holistic approach” that involves people, processes, products and culture. At the February RoundTable, Fraley will provide a snapshot of what needs to be considered in the big picture of innovation management. He’ll provide ideas and specific tools that managers can implement immediately to improve aspects of their innovation systems. The tools have to do with imagination (thinking with vision), ideation (thinking up new product and service concepts) and idea management (making sure ideas are thoughtfully evaluated, recorded and acted upon).
Fraley contends that innovation is the most critical ongoing challenge any business faces, and he knows how difficult it is for organizations to consistently innovate over the long haul. Despite sincere and energetic efforts, “silver bullet” approaches often miss their target. What works more consistently is a holistic approach, according to Fraley.
